In 2024, we embarked on an exciting new chapter for our organization with a strategic rebranding from the Farm Safety Centre to Heartland Training & Support Hub. This change reflects our evolving mission to better support rural communities across Alberta by expanding our focus beyond farm safety to include rural health, well-being, and support for newcomers.
For over three decades, we’ve been a trusted resource for rural Alberta, providing essential programs like Safety Smarts, Sustainable Farm Families, and the Rural Health Initiative. While farm safety remains a cornerstone of our work, the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities today require us to think bigger and broaden our impact.
Why the Rebrand?
Our rebranding was driven by:
- Clarifying Our Role: To distinguish ourselves as an independent, community-focused organization, rather than a government regulatory body.
- Expanding Our Mission: To address critical issues like mental health, community health, and integration support for newcomers in rural areas.
- Unlocking New Funding Opportunities: To better qualify for grants and partnerships that enable us to deliver high-impact programs across a wider range of needs.
What’s Next?
Under the Heartland Training & Support Hub banner, we are excited to continue delivering our flagship Safety Smarts program while working towards relaunching other vital initiatives like the Rural Health Initiative and Sustainable Farm Families in 2025. These programs play a critical role in fostering health, safety, and resilience in rural Alberta.
We are grateful to the communities, partners, and supporters who have been with us throughout this journey. Together, we look forward to building a thriving, inclusive, and safer rural Alberta for generations to come.
Stay tuned for more updates as we grow and adapt to meet the needs of our communities.
