We’re thrilled to announce that Heartland Training & Support Hub has been approved for a three-year conditional grant through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (SCAP)!
This critical funding ensures that our flagship program, Safety Smarts, can continue to provide essential farm safety education to children in rural Alberta. After facing funding challenges in recent years, this grant marks a turning point, allowing us to expand our reach and impact.
Here’s what this funding means for the Safety Smarts program:
- Resuming Full Operations: With SCAP support, we can visit more rural schools, delivering impactful presentations to elementary students.
- Hiring and Training Instructors: We’ve onboarded and trained several new Safety Smarts instructors to meet the growing demand for safety education.
- Matching Fund Requirements: The grant is conditional, meaning we need community support to meet the matching fund requirements and unlock its full potential.
This funding reflects the importance of farm safety education and our shared mission to protect rural children and families.
